Barbara was born in 2015 with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) which is a type of deafness, in which the root cause lies in the inner ear or sensory organ.
In 2016 she received a cochlear implant which is an electronic medical device that replaces the function of the damaged ear and it provides sound signals to the brain. This specific device includes a speech processor which in order to function needs batteries that has to be changed every 3 to 4 days. That costs a lot for the family and they would like to find an easier solution for Barbara to help her in hearing and speaking without any obstructions. Our foundation is trying to help the parents to find the perfect device that has an easy to recharge battery, so that Barbara won’t have difficulties in the future.
